Join us for an Education Adventure Sail: A special public sail providing Clearwater’s classic 3-hour education sail to the public on a per-ticket basis. The sail is scheduled for Saturday, October 20th, 2012 from 10:00-1:00, setting sail from the City Recreation Pier in Yonkers, New York.
This sail is your chance to bring your family, homeschooling group, after school program, or small Boy or Girl Scout troop to experience Clearwater’s pioneering shipboard environmental education program! Participants will lend a hand raising our 3,000 lb mainsail; learn about navigation and take a hand steering the sloop; examine and learn to identify specimens of Hudson River life; learn about the history of the sloop and Clearwater’s environmental advocacy work; and join the crew in singing chanteys.
Please note that this is a public education sail targeted to youth, not a regular Clearwater public sail. The cost of the sail is $50/adult; $35/Clearwater members; and $15/children 12 years of age and younger.
Booking guidelines:
- This sail is open to groups of 12 or fewer people, including chaperones;
- Each group is requested to bring one adult chaperone for every 5 children;
