The teenage young women in Clearwater’s leadership training program Young Women at the Helm sailed from Beacon Dock to Cold Spring Wednesday. The YWATH were coached in knot-tying and other maritime skills before the Clearwater set sail on a gorgeous, sunny day with fair winds.
Participants age 15-18 come from schools around the region to be a part of the three-day program. Clearwater’s crew, educators and volunteer advisors and speakers at the nightly camp sessions (on land) help make this a life-changing experience in just 72 hours.
