Team Clearwater & the Five Boro Bike Tour

Our team will be riding 42 miles through New York’s five boros, traffic-free, as a part of Bike New York’s TD Bank Five Boro Bike Tour.

We will be joining 30,000 cyclists for the largest recreational cycling event in America.

By riding with Team Clearwater, you will receive all the benefits of regular participation plus:

  • A special Start Area pass that places you ahead of the other 30,000 riders, within the first few blocks of the Tour in downtown Manhattan.
  • One year of Membership to the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater, which includes newsletters, discounted admission to multiple events and festivals, the opportunity to sail and volunteer aboard the Sloop Clearwater, and discounts on environmental products from our Online Catalog.
  • A TEAM CLEARWATER Bike Tour jersey for tour day.
  • The top 45 fundraisers will get a free sunset sail in New York City aboard the Historic Sloop.

Oops! Did you already sign up for the tour through the Bike NY website, but would like to make your ride a part of Team Clearwater’s fundraising efforts? Don’t worry, you still can.  Lots of folks did that last year, just click here for more information.

Please read the instructions below on how to sign up:

All Team Clearwater riders must commit to raise a minimum of $500 for Clearwater.  Participants are invited to either purchase the registration for that amount themselves or solicit sponsors to raise the funds. Participants must first fill out our registration form.  They will then be contacted by our office by phone to secure their spot with a credit card.  No charge will be billed to your credit card at this time, but full payment (either direct or via sponsors) of at least $500 must be made to Clearwater by April 16, 2010 or we will charge the remainder to your credit card.

Upon submitting your registration form to Team Clearwater you will receive immediately via email:

  1. a link to complete the application process with Bike NY
  2. a link to guide you through the sponsorship/fundraising process (it is important to visit this page and follow the instructions as there are certain guidelines we must follow in receiving donations given that we are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization)

This will be followed by:

  1. a phone call from our office to retrieve the credit card information needed to hold your spot on the roster (or to pay for your spot outright).
  2. a membership packet (for new members) via USPS
  3. instructions via email on tour day details and how to get your jersey
  4. details on the Bike Tour sail for the top 45 fundraisers
