UWFactory_PublicArtClearwater and Partners Celebrate Hudson River Days and Wrap-up Creek Week at Poughkeepsie’s Middle Main Community Block Party

Clearwater, Hudson River Housing, and partners invite the public to a special evening of education, celebration, music, food, and fun on the banks of the Fall Kill at the site of the historic Poughkeepsie Underwear Factory, this Saturday July 20, from 6:00PM – 9:00PM. The event is part of the Hudson River Days Celebration  and a wrap-up party for Poughkeepsie’s Creek Week events. The evening will feature the unveiling of “Windows on Middle Main” public art project featured on the factory’s south side. The community celebration will include activities for all ages including a children’s arts and crafts tent, local food, dancing exhibitions, and live music by local Hip Hop and dance music group, Baam Bada. The event will also feature the debut of the “Fall Kill Rap” by Cornell Cooperative Extension’s, No Child Left Inside group.

WHO: Clearwater, Hudson River Housing, and partners. Night by the Fall Kill helps support the restoration of the Underwear Factory as part of the Middle Main Initiative, and the revitalization of the Fall Kill Creek.

Hudson River Sloop Clearwater and the Fall Kill Watershed Committee coordinated a series of free community Creek Week events in Poughkeepsie taking place July13 – 20 to celebrate the Fall Kill Creek. The events, in addition to building awareness for the Fall Kill, were designed to bring attention to the work of many partner groups, including Hudson River Housing, Cornell Cooperative Extension, Mid Hudson Children’s Museum, and the Hudson River Estuary Program through these informative and exciting opportunities to support the revitalization of Poughkeepsie and the Fall Kill watershed.
