Turn Danskammer’s Delay Tactic into Another Opportunity to be Heard!
Last fall, we collectively achieved a major victory when New York’s Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) denied Danskammer developers a required air permit because the proposed plant emissions would conflict with New York’s climate goals.
If built, the new Danskammer plant would emit millions of tons of climate-warming gases, spew cancer-causing pollutants, and harm communities in and around Newburgh.
As a last-ditch effort, the developers have appealed the denial. As part of the process the DEC will hold a virtual public comment hearing on Tues., Feb. 15.
