Featuring Kingston Home Port and Education Center Groundbreaking Ceremony
The public is invited to the Kingston Waterfront for a spectacular Hudson River Day 2012 event, Saturday, July 21, 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, featuring a dockside celebration with great music, children’s activities, boats, exhibits and more! A highlight of the day will be the official groundbreaking ceremony at 12:30 PM for the much anticipated Kingston Home Port and Education Center, which will serve as the winter home for the sloop Clearwater, built in partnership with the Hudson River Maritime Museum. The day will feature lighthouse tours and sails on the sloop Clearwater, and live music, brought to you by Clearwater with local musicians who will entertain and delight audiences with old timey music, music of the river, originals and cover songs. This year’s “Clothesline Art Show” will be on display near the museum’s 1898 tug Mathilda; the theme this year will be “Animals Aboard – from ships’ cats to fishing birds to water rescue dogs”.
