CD featuring Pete Seeger and Beacon students earn Grammy nomination
A CD featuring Dutchess Junction resident and folk singing legend Pete Seeger, along with a group of students from J.V. Forrestal Elementary School in Beacon, has been nominated for a Grammy in the category of Best Musical Album for Children.
“I’ll be darned,” Seeger told the Journal. “I’m very glad for the kids.”
The Grammy nomination for “Tomorrow’s Children” by Pete Seeger With The Rivertown Kids and Friends was announced Wednesday night, during a ceremony in Los Angeles. Several songs on the CD were written by students.
