Melissa Everett, Ph.D., is Executive Director of Sustainable Hudson Valley. Her career blends civic engagement and social science in a quest for ways to lighten humanity’s footprint while creating meaningful work and livable communities. She has been a journalist, career counselor, leadership instructor, communications consultant and author of three books — most recently Making a Living While Making a Difference: Conscious Careers for an Era of Interdependence (New Society Publishers 2007). Her PhD, from Erasmus University in the Netherlands - explored the social structures and dynamics of “turnaround communities.” She enjoys roller blading and swimming, folk music and blues, and all things spicy. Sustainable Hudson Valley helps communities to deal with climate change and the energy crisis by building a green economy. |
