Bring your class onboard for our “Classroom of the Waves” program

In addition to learning about the boat, students will be introduced to the history, ecology, and biology of the Hudson River.  The sloop Clearwater, and the schooner Mystic Whaler offer a variety of sails from river towns along the Hudson River from Albany to New York City, April through October.  Learn about the Hudson’s history, biology and environmental concerns.  Each sail is an ecological adventure aboard working replicas of 19th century sailing vessels.

While onboard, experience an authentic sail:
  • Raise the mainsail
  • Take the tiller
  • Music
  • Visit the crew’s living quarters below deck

Booking Group Sails for Spring 2010

It’s time to book your group’s sail aboard sloop Clearwater for the spring 2010 sailing season.

First-round applications, submitted between September 15th and October 15th, 2009 will be used to determine where our boats will be docked during the months of April, May, and June 2010. Slots will not be awarded on a first-come-first-served basis, but will be considered as part of the whole.

  • Please fill out the 2010 Sail Application Form and submit it to us before October 15th, 2009. Be sure to include three dock choices, if possible, and at least three potential dates for your trip. If you do not have a specific date in mind, submitting a date range is acceptable (e.g. “the first two weeks of April”). Also, please be sure to note any dates when you absolutely cannot sail, including any restrictions on times of day when you can sail.

  • We will contact you by December 1st, 2009 with a confirmation of your booking or with alternate dates, as necessary.
